“Molotov cocktail”

During the Soviet-Finnish war of 1939, Foreign Minister Molotov said that Soviet troops were not dropping bombs, but food supplies for the starving Finns.

In Finland, such bombs were dubbed “Molotov bread baskets”, and then they began to call devices with incendiary mixture against Soviet tanks “Molotov Cocktail”.

We have shortened the name of such a weapon to simply “Molotov Cocktail”
