Interesting information about Nowruz

Nowruz (Persian nwrwz – “new day”) is a spring holiday and the first day of the new year in Persian and Turkic peoples.

🔹The word “Navroz” means “new day” when translated from Persian.
Nowruz is celebrated in Iran, Central Asia and the Caucasus on March 21, and in Kazakhstan on March 22.
On September 30, 2009, “Navroz” was included in the list of intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO.
🔹On February 23, 2010, at the 64th session of the UN General Assembly, March 21 was announced as “International Nowruz Day”.
🔹Persian and Turkic nations in Iran, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Lebanon, Pakistan, India, Tajikistan, Turkey, Albania, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and other places celebrate Navroz.
